Exam Success 2011
The Anma students of 2011 took their exams this weekend and I proud and delighted to say that all passed with extraordinarily high grades. Outstanding exam grades, superb practical exams and unbelievably high coursework scores mean that we now have 7 qualified Anma practitioners. All that hard work paid off! Well done chaps, I'm so very proud of you!
ICNM Student of the Year Award 2010/2011
I'm delighted that Kim Holmes, one of last year's students, has been awarded the Institute for Complementary and Natural Medicine's Complementary Medicine Student of the Year!! Kim worked very hard to conquer a school phobia, and after a diagnosis of dyslexia was confirmed, she embraced her Amatsu learning and achieved great success in her exams. This award is a testament to her hard work, and also the support that all of the group have given each other over the last two years. Well done Kim!!
Newsflash from the ICNM...
ICNM Best Complementary Student Awarded to Milton Keynes Practitioner / Rickmansworth Student
The Institute for Complementary and Natural Medicine (ICNM) has named Amatsu student, Kim Holmes, as the Complementary Student of the Year. The Award, sponsored by Balen's insurance, is now in its second year, and is part of the ICNM's Complementary Medicine Awards. Kim was nominated by her tutor, Jane Langston at the Amatsu Training School in Rickmansworth. Battling a school phobia and previously undiagnosed dyslexia making reading and writing a laborious task, Kim developed new strategies to cope and with careful teaching and learning, went on to gain a distinction in her first year examination.
Chief Executive, Yvonne Wilcox, says "Once again, we were delighted with the calibre of entries this year and we think all the nominees and winners reflect the growing importance and professionalism of complementary medicine".
The ICNM administers the British Register of Complementary Practitioners (BRCP) which is one of the longest-running registers of its kind in the country. Its members range from acupuncturists to aromatherapists, hypnotherapists and reflexologists, to name a few. In order to qualify to be a member of the BRCP, practitioners must prove their competence to practice by either completing an approved course or through an assessment made by the BRCP Registration Panel. Well what a successful course! Jane and Taz presented the first Amatsu Kihon week in Rickmansworth to 9 practitoners and it was very well received. Some great learning by all. It was the first time that the Amatsu Training School had used Regus in Rickmansworth as a course venue, and it worked well. Good transport links made it easy for the delegates to travel to. Three Irish Amatsu practitoners flew over for the course to join the 6 English practitioners, so it was great to have some international relations!
Great food provided by The Fat Aubergine and The Coach and Horses Pub (both in Rickmansworth) added to the enjoyment of the course.
Taz and Jane will be presenting this course again in June 2011, check out the CPD pages for dates and details.
